Picking Up Where We Left Off...

So it's been quite some time since I've posted on this blog... I actually can't believe how long it's been... Over a year already... And I had barely gotten started...

I guess it just goes to show how easy it is to give up, especially when you continually put things off. I had every intention of posting regularly...When I started this blog, I can honestly say that I was really fired up about...well, everything! It was really exciting to finally start noticing God work in just about every area of my life. My failure to post this past year has not been due to the absence of that work, but rather my "busyness" and ultimately, procrastination (ironically, the subject of my last post).

To be honest, I told myself I would post something every 2 weeks, but I never really set a day or time to really sit down and just type. I kept getting caught up in other things and telling myself that I would get to it "later." As you can see, I eventually forgot about my blog...Thus, that old saying "failing to plan is planning to fail" proved to be true and I'm sorry for letting that happen. This is my last year as a high school IB student and I plan on keeping up with this site throughout the year for the benefit of myself and others who need the encouragement.

As the countdown to the first day of school begins, I keep thinking (and I'm sure you are too): it's going to be a rough year. I've heard stories about Senior year (especially as a 2nd science student) and they're less-than-comforting to say the least...But we've made it this far and there's no turning back now!

I wish I could go back in time and post every time I experienced God in a supernatural way this past year. Junior year has without a doubt been the BEST year of my life because of what I learned and how God used me and just how much FUN it was! ...I might have to do a little bit of back-tracking in future posts... No guarantees though! We'll see where He leads!

So in closing, enjoy what's left of the Summer, but if you haven't already: use this time to be productive! Prepare yourself for the coming year by knocking out that summer reading, getting a head start on applications, and accumulating those CAS hours. Most importantly though: establish that daily quiet-time with God. If you haven't already, now is the best time to get into the habit of spending time reading His word daily and praying to Him. I can't even begin to express how vital it is to your relationship with God... When I don't get that word from Him in the mornings (sometimes I do it in the evenings during school)... I feel like I'm missing something, but when I do... it's CRAZY how He uses those few verses to reveal things to you throughout the day, even over the course of the week! It truly makes life both in and out of school much more exciting.

One last thing: Since I haven't actually discussed an actual topic today, I'll leave you with this verse to think about for next time:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:11-13

Love & Prayers,

Sarah

What is IB?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students aged 16 to 19. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.

Students learn more than a collection of facts. The Diploma Programme prepares students for university and encourages them to:

* ask challenging questions
* learn how to learn
* develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture
* develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures.

Schools teach the programme in English, French and/or Spanish.

The Diploma Programme is one of three programmes offered by the IB.
